About Irenic Therapeutic Services
At Irenic Therapeutic Services, we believe healing begins with peace — within ourselves, our relationships, and our communities. We are a trauma-informed, culturally responsive telehealth practice serving clients across Arizona and Washington.
Our team includes Licensed Clinical Trauma Specialists, trained associate clinicians offering individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as relationship intensives and clinical supervision for emerging therapists.
We understand that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Our approach honors the whole person, your history, your culture, and your lived experience, while integrating evidence-based techniques that support lasting change.
Irenic Therapeutic Services was founded with a vision to create space for both healing and growth. As professionals of color, we recognize the importance of representation and psychological safety in mental health care. We are committed to bridging access gaps, empowering clients, and mentoring the next generation of clinicians who will continue this work.
At Irenic, our goal is simple: to help you rediscover peace, connection, and confidence in your story, because true healing starts at home.
Krystal Burton
LPC, Ph.D. Candidate
Licensed Professional Counselor & Clinical Supervisor
At Irenic Therapeutic Services, I believe healing begins with peace, within ourselves, our relationships, and our communities. My goal is simple: to help you rediscover peace, connection, and confidence in your story.
As a professional of color, I recognize the importance or representation and psychological safety in mental health care. Whether you are seeking therapy to heal from past trauma or looking for clinical supervision to grow your own career, I am committed to bridging access gaps and creating a space designed for both healing and growing.
Locations &
The Counseling Compact
I hold active dual licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Arizona and Washington State, allowing me to see clients across both states via telehealth.
Additionally, I am a proud participating provider in the Counseling Compact. This allows me to expand my telehealth practice to serve clients residing in other approved Compact member states.
Please Note:
Because the Counseling Compact grants a cross-state “privilege to practice” rather than a state-specific license, commercial insurance plans generally do not cover out-of-state Compact therapy at this time. Therefore, clients residing outside of Arizona and Washington will need to utilize Private Pay or their Out-of-Network (OON) benefits for services
My Approach to
Therapy
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. My approach honors the whole person—your history, your culture, and your lived experience—while integrating evidence-based techniques that support lasting change.
I am a Certified Trauma Specialist with extensive experience working with diverse and resilient populations. My clinical background includes supporting adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), high-need and at-risk teens, male parolees, individuals in residential substance abuse treatment, and survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking.
My Clinical Specialties Include:
Trauma & PTSD
Specialized care for individuals, families, and survivors of sex trafficking.
First Responder Trauma
Certified to provide targeted, essential support to those who serve our communities in critical roles.
Evidence-Based Modalities
Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to offer actionable skills and emotion regulation strategies, alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Clinical Supervision
& Mentorship
True healing requires a strong community of capable providers, which is why I am deeply passionate about mentoring the next generation of clinicians.
As an Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Approved Supervisor and a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision, I provide comprehensive clinical supervision to emerging therapists. My background as an instructional assistant and my ongoing Ph.D. research equip me to offer highly supportive, ethically grounded, and culturally responsive mentorship to associate-level clinicians building their own practice.
